Just worked for 4 days at the IT Show 2011 10th-13th March@ Suntec, this is the 3rd show I've worked for already. But compared to the other 2 shows that I've worked for, this is the most shiong and tiring one. Worked for Asiapac Fujitsu under Digital Asia without an agent. Yup, my first time working without an agent.. Well, experienced both sides and both got their good and bad.. Firstly, the super obvious difference is the pay. Agent = Basic pay $40/day + some shitty commission based on percentage. No agent = No basic, but its $20/piece flat. Next, is the food.. under agent, they will provide us with catered food from some quality caterer twice a day, lunch and dinner. Without agent, you get catered food once a day at 1pm which means lunch only. And the food really sucks. Its cold and taste like rubber, looks like some really really budget food that cost $10 for 10 packets, seriously. Next is the manager.. Wl, can fire people one leh! First day, I almost didn't sell anything and almost kena fired. Since we don't have any agent, we don't sign any contract or whatever, and they can fire us anytime they want -.- Got lucky the next few days. I'm supposed to have 45 colleagues in that small area working together, reduced to only 20+ on the last day.. Finally, the colleagues. They're all older than me lah, wtf. Most of them are poly year 2 and 3 waiting for term to start. I'm the only one waiting for year 1 to start -.- Anwy, all of them worked for the IT Show before but not all with Fujitsu. They're super friendly la but all cheena de. Forced to speak cheena with them and 90% of the deals I closed.. Made some friends there also, including 2 who grad from SAJC who just got their A's. Probably if I need a lobang, I can look for them :)
Oh, one more thing. The Fujitsu training is fcking SHIONG! Its over 2 days, one sales training at Funan and the other is the product training at Henderson industrial estate. Start at 8pm, can end at 11.30pm one sia, dam intense ttm! But I realised the training was super useful, cos Fujitsu is freaking hard to sell! Basically, Fujitsu is a quality brand, parts and assembly in Japan that's why its so dam expensive, but super reliable, I'm serious. On the other hand, Acer, its dirt cheap, but the parts and all are from China! You will know how I feel when you're explaining to your customer, haiz. I want a Fujitsu, but I don't want to work for Fujitsu -.-
