Ok, I'm back to update you guys on the most recent camp I had in school just last Friday to Sunday. As you can see from the title this year's theme is J-A-N-I-T-O-R -.- yes, I know right! We were this close to having Jackass Canoeist Camp 2011 but sdar banned it, so we got this super uncool theme this year, janitor. And I still cant believe it, argh!
Day 1: So the first thing they did was to split us into 5 groups, and the first thing we did was to rebel and we got into our own groups of friends. Nope, they didn't couldn't do anything about it :) First activity was the amazing race around Singapore. Not the kind that I imagined it to be, its where all the teams were supposed to go towards the same checkpoint. Time spent on travelling was more than the time spent on the checkpoint itself.. Spent $7+ on transport on this day :( Visited places including NP itself, Alexandra Ikea, Kallang River, Hort Park. Did all sorts of activities like forming the words Janitor in Ikea, kayak on a sprint kayak, etc. Our team came in last.. Dinner back at the grandstand. Played soccer for night games, but with an added twist. We were supposed to play with a cone covering our face -.- OTOT time till lights out, showered and went to KAP for supper. Watched hangover 2 with the rest in the girls bunk till 2am then went back to sleep.
Day 2: Wet/Dirty games first thing in the morning, the rain killed everything in the afternoon. We waited, lunched and napped till 2pm hoping the rain would stop to continue the games but it didnt stop and we were freezing to death. So the mass game in the pool was cancelled and we got some OTOT time till about 4pm in the evening. Finally, the highlight of the camp. A tradition the canoeist camp always have every year. We had to wear a costume of the theme of camp and go down to town to complete some tasks. So there we were right smack in the middle of orchard road, right in front of taka eating our dinner and IN OUR JANITOR COSTUMES (sweat drop). That was only the appetiser. Here's the main course: we had to finish 8 events down there, they were: doing lunges from one end of taka to the other, get 8 signatures from people on our arms, take a picture with a real janitor, get 3 tissue paper from stranger and clean a random spot, clean a stranger's shoe, do jumping jets around a group of people, dance with buskers, pick up 5 random litter. all these in our janitor costumes >.< That's not the end, cos you always end with the desert. Last objective was to choreograph a 2min dance and present it in the middle of cathay.. Once we were done, we had our otot till midnight. Supper at KAP macs AGAIN. Then movie marathon back at our bunk until 4+am...
Day 3: Report at 8am but everybody overslept, even the seniors LOL! reporting time pushed back by an hour hahaha. Packed bags and left the classroom. Breakfast at this place under Makan Place, then went into one of the lecture theatres there. Shawn, our canoe club president was waiting for us there.. I just been through one of the most memorable ending of a camp ever. Our photos more than 93858293 of them were uploaded and made into a short video clip and of course we watched it. Touching, really. Just looking at the video reminded me of how much fun we had, how our relationship improved with each other in just 2 days wow. Okay then it was the prize presentation, best group, best dressed, best performance, etc. Basically everyone won something. Received our camp tees and got group photos taken together. Finally, it was time to break camp! Happy, but yet sad.. pool slot training resumes immediately after the camp :( just imagine how tired we were that day and had to go through training and of course there's land training again the next day. 6 days of canoeing activities in a row, haiz.
